Our Process – The safe collection and disposal of drum waste and hazardous waste
Identification and Labelling: It is important to correctly identify the contents of each drum and label them accordingly. Each drum should clearly state what it contains, whether it's car oil filters, cutting oils, oily rags, engine oils, waste coolants, diesel, or any other hazardous material.
Segregation: Hazardous waste should be segregated from non-hazardous waste to prevent contamination. Ensure that drums containing hazardous materials are stored separately and securely.
Licensed Waste Carrier: Only use licensed waste carriers to remove hazardous waste from your business premises. Our licensed team and vehicles are authorised and regulated by the Environment Agency in England to transport hazardous waste safely.
Waste Transfer Note: Before the waste is removed, a Waste Transfer Note (WTN) must be completed. This document records details of the waste being transferred, including its type, quantity, and destination. You must keep a copy of the WTN for your records.
Packaging: It must be ensured that the drums are securely packaged and sealed to prevent leaks or spills during transportation. If necessary, absorbent materials can be used to soak up any spills.
Transportation: Hazardous waste must be transported in accordance with relevant regulations, which may include specific packaging and labelling requirements. We are fully equipped to handle the type of hazardous waste being transported.
Disposal: Hazardous waste must be disposed of at authorised facilities that are licensed to handle such waste. These facilities employ safe and environmentally responsible disposal methods, such as recycling, treatment, or incineration.
Documentation: It is important to keep detailed and accurate records of all transactions related to the disposal of hazardous waste. This should include copies of Waste Transfer Notes, invoices from waste carriers, and receipts from disposal facilities. This documentation may be required for regulatory compliance and auditing purposes.
